Potato Variety
Development
To continually improve product quality and reduce waste, we
actively test new potato varieties for characteristics such as
improved texture, higher yields, reduced bruising, lower fertilizer
needs, and more consistent performance. These trials help us
identify varieties that deliver better results for both our products
and the environment.
For example, one ongoing project focuses on reducing bruising.
Early results show significantly higher recovery rates in our plants,
meaning less waste and more efficient use of each harvest.
Reducing the number of varieties used at each plant also improves
consistency and uniformity in our finished products.
