Fazio Farms
Fazio Farms, located on Sauvie Island just 20 miles
from our Hillsboro, Oregon facility, is one of our
valued local potato partners. Sauvie Island’s fertile
soils, shaped by the Willamette, Columbia, and
Multnomah Channel, have supported generations
of agricultural families.
Founded in the 1940s by Antonio Fazio after
immigrating from Italy, the farm is now operated
by the fourth generation of the Fazio family, with
the fifth on the way. The family began growing
potatoes in the 1980s, and their operation
continues to play an important role in the region’s
agricultural landscape.
We are collaborating with Fazio Farms to solve
a challenge we face at all our plants -securing
a consistent, high-quality, year-round supply of
potatoes sourced as close as possible to each
facility. In the region surrounding our Hillsboro,
Oregon plant, supply is abundant from September
through June, but there is typically a summer gap
when demand peaks. We are currently partnering
with Fazio Farms to test new potato varieties and
storage improvements that could help bridge this
seasonal gap.
